asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the new regime for detention centres will come into operation.

On 6 March 1985. The new regime will follow the lines I outlined in reply to a question from my right hon. and learned Friend the Member for Warrington, 197W South (Mr. Carlisle) on 24 July 1984 at columns 578–80. Copies of a note summarising its main features have been placed in the Library and the Vote Office.
