§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Defence if, in view of the representations recently made by the Irish Government to the International Maritime Organisation about the growth in the number of incidents involving fishing vessels and submerged submarines, he will undertake a review of regulations relating to the movement of submarines in coastal waters around Britain and Ireland and in the Irish sea.
§ Mr. LeeThe level of incidents involving fishing vessels and Royal Navy submarines has not grown in recent years. While I am satisfied at present with the procedures relating to the movement of submarines in the waters around the British Isles, these are, of course, kept under regular review.
