§ Mr. John PattenThese are serious diseases of international importance, occurring mainly in the Third world. Work relating to the cure and prevention of such diseases is part of the international role of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and of the Public Health Laboratory Service Board, which is responsible for the centre for applied microbiology and research.
