§ Mr. Chopeasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what response he has received from the French Ministry of External Relations since making representations on behalf of Margaret Hicks for payment of compensation due to her for the loss of her yacht in Papeete on 30 September 1983.
§ Mr. RentonThe French Ministry of External Relations informed Her Majesty's embassy in Paris on 28 January that it awaited comment from the examining magistrate in Papeete. The embassy has been instructed to continue to press the Ministry with a view to bringing the matter to a satisfactory conclusion as rapidly as possible.
