§ Mr. BeithNo action is currently being taken to monitor the country of origin of staff employed by the House of Commons Commission. The House authorities have however adopted the race relations policy statement agreed for the Civil Service, and an equal opportunities officer has been appointed in the Establishments Office. Consideration will be given to the introduction of monitoring of existing staff and applicants for employment in the light of the results of surveys currently being undertaken in the Civil Service.
