§ Mr. Michael McNair-Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what criteria he bears in mind when putting forward the names of individuals with a recommendation that they be awarded the Queen's Police Medal.
§ Mr. Giles Shaw:The qualifications for the grant of the Queen's Police Medal are set out in regulations made under the Royal Warrant in 1954. They include special or valuable services in various capacities, distinguished administrative or organisational work and prolonged service distinguished by very exceptional ability and merit.
