Mr. Iain Mills

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many prosecutions took place for television licence evasion in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984;

(2) how many people were found guilty of evading television licences in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984.

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much revenue resulted from fines paid for television licence evasion in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984.

I regret that information in respect of revenue resulting from fines for particular types of offence is not available centrally.

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce legislation that will allow compensation to be given to the British Broadcasting Corporation for revenue lost due to television licence evasion.
