§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services which categories of supplementary benefit claimants will be receiving reduced allowances within the next two years resulting from his recent proposals to amend allocations.
§ Mr. WhitneyI assume the hon. Member is referring to our proposals to control supplementary benefit expenditure on people in board and lodging accommodation. We are not at this stage in a position to say how categories of claimants will be affected because we have yet to receive and consider the report of the Social Security Advisory Committee following its consultation on the proposals.
