asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the monitoring of aircraft noise at Gatwick airport.

Aircraft taking off from Gatwick are required to meet statutory noise limits, and are monitored to ensure that these limits are observed. Infringements are taken up with the airlines concerned by my Department.
