asked the Secretary of State for Transport what is the policy of Her Majesty's Government concerning that offer of the Greater London council to purchase the Dartford tunnel from Essex and Kent county councils.

I understand that GLC officials have been asked to investigate the possibility of the council acquiring the tunnel but that no offer to buy has been made.
