§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list in the Official Report those structure plans submitted for approval to his Department over the past two years, indicating those for which an examination in public has already been held, together with those for which an examination in public is proposed and the date, where known, when each examination is expected to be held.

The British Geological Survey is one of the NERC's component institutes. As well as conducting research in the earth sciences, it provides advice to local authorities and Government Departments on geological matters including land structure, mineral resources and workings and the onshore oil industry. The NERC intends this service to continue.
