§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans he has to introduce a two-tier child benefit system involving a higher benefit for low income families and a taxed benefit for high income families.
§ Mr. WhitneyChild benefit is within the scope of the social security review which is now being completed. We hope to be in a position to announce any proposals for change in the course of the next few months.
