§ Mr. John MacKayThe information, by health board areas, is as follows. The details in respect of new hospital beds relate to new hospital buildings, funded from the central building programme: information in respect of locally funded developments is not held centrally. Many
354W of the beds have been provided as replacements for outdated facilities and are not additions to the overall complement. The details of beds closed refer only to complete hospitals taken out of use. Information in respect of partial closures of hospitals is not collected centrally.
