HC Deb 19 December 1985 vol 89 c260W
Mr. Thurnham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what recent representations he has received about the implications of the Government's financial targets for the prospective water supply and sewerage charges by North West water from 1986–87; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John Patten

I have received representations from the chairman of the authority and comments by the Confederation of British Industry have been sent to me. The rise in charges will be about 10 per cent., which is less than the confederation had feared.
