Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, pursuant to the Minister of State's answer of 9 December, Official Report, column 490, if he will name the companies which have ceased or limited, respectively, production of National Health Service frames; and how many fewer such frames are consequently being produced.

Companies manufacturing National Health Service frames are not required to report their production figures, nor are they obliged to advise my Department when they discontinue manufacture.

However, formal and informal contacts indicate that the manufacture of National Health Service frames is now concentrated mainly on the largest companies.
