asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list in the Official Report the members of the National Advisory Council for the Youth Service, their ages, the organisations they represent and the criteria that were used in deciding membership.

In determining invitations to be in membership of the council, the Secretaries of State for Education and Science and for Wales had regard to the wide range of interests in the youth service field. Individual members have, however, been appointed in a personal capacity according to the contribution each can make to the work of the council. I shall write to the hon. Member about the ages of council members in due course.
