HC Deb 19 December 1985 vol 89 c294W
Mr. Hirst

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement about the future of Jordanhill college school.

Mr. Younger

My Department wrote on 18 December to the governing body of Jordanhill college of education about the administration and funding by the college of Jordanhill college school. The letter seeks the views of the governing body on whether the school is still required for the exercise by the college of its functions under part II of the Teachers (Colleges of Education) (Scotland) Regulations 1967. It makes the point that I hold the school in high regard; and it indicates that, if the school is no longer required for the discharge of the functions of the college, my objective would be to secure the establishment of new arrangements which would involve as little disruption as possible for pupils and staff.
