HC Deb 19 December 1985 vol 89 c322W
Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the number of people who have died each year from 1979 to the latest available year from hypothermia (a) nationally, (b) in each social security region and (c) in each standard economic planning region.

Mr. Whitney

The information is not readily available in the exact form requested. However, the number of deaths with a mention of hypothermia on the death certificate, regardless of whether it did or did not appear as the underlying cause of death is shown in the table for England and Wales, and the standard regions for 1979 to 1984, the latest available full year.
