HC Deb 19 December 1985 vol 89 c265W
Mr. Latham

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will make a statement on the response to date in the Province to the Anglo-Irish Agreement.

Mr. Tom King

As at 17 December 1985 the Prune Minister and I had together received letters and messages from 475 individuals and organisations in northern Ireland in response to the Anglo-Irish Agreement. The majority of these expressed reservations about or opposition to the agreement. There have also been responses by other organisations and individuals, some in favour of the agreement, some opposed, which cannot be accurately counted.
