HC Deb 18 December 1985 vol 89 cc167-8W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations his Department has received from the town clerk of Manchester under the heading public transport plan for 1986–87 to 1988–89; what reply he is sending; if he will publish the correspondence in the Official Report; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ridley

My officials have received a letter from the town clerk of Manchester city council in support of the application by the Greater Manchester passenger transport authority for a redetermination of the expenditure level and have acknowledged receipt. No doubt the town clerk will be prepared to make a copy of his letter available to the right hon. Gentleman.

I expect to announce very shortly my decision on the application made by Greater Manchester passenger transport authority for the determination of its expenditure level.
