§ Mr. Dubsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the average annual income tax payment by persons (a) on the pay-as-you-earn scheme and (b) those outside the scheme.
§ Mr. MooreIt is estimated that the average income tax liability in 1985–86 for taxpayers of working age is(a) about £1,900 for those whose main source of income is subject to pay-as-you-earn and (b) about £2,250 for those whose main source of income is outside PAYE. These averages are for tax units, that is after aggregating income for married couples.
