asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many miles of motorway in Scotland have safety barriers on the central reservation; on which motorways; and what plans currently exist to increase the provision of such safety barriers.

At present there are approximately 28.8 miles of trunk motorway with safety barriers on the central reservation in Scotland. The details are as follows:

I am currently reviewing policy on the provision of central safety barriers for new motorways.
