HC Deb 11 December 1985 vol 88 c649W
Mr. Lawrence

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is satisfied that the present strength of the city fraud squad is adequate to deal with impending fraud investigations; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Giles Shaw

The commissioner's commitment to combating fraud is demonstrated by the contribution of 63 detective officers of his force's establishment to the Metropolitan and City company fraud branch. The deployment of additional officers to fraud duties from within the City and Metropolitan forces is a matter for the commissioners.
