HC Deb 10 December 1985 vol 88 cc583-4W
Mr. Speller

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions have arisen following information on untaxed vehicles given to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre as a result of reports from the police and traffic wardens.

Mr. Michael Spicer

I have been asked to reply.

The following table gives the number of prosecutions following reports on the unlicensed use of vehicles over the last three years. It also provides the number of cases where the evader agreed in lieu to settle out-of-court by payment of a penalty.

1983–84 167,000 102,000
