54. Mr. Weetch

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many nurses have been asked to leave or been given notice to quit (a) nurses homes and (b) self-contained houses rented from their employing authority, since July 1985 under the terms of the Department of Health and Social Security circular HC(85)19.

68. Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many nurses have been asked to leave or been given notices to quit (a) nurses homes and (b) self-contained houses rented from their employing authority, since July 1985, under the terms of DHSS circular HC(85)19.

Mr. Hayhoe

No nurses have been so evicted. Staff who are no longer to be offered accommodation will either have the chance to buy at a discount the property they currently live in, or be given at least a year to make alternative arrangements.
