§ Mr. Murphyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will seek to renegotiate the status of Gibraltar with regard to the European Economic Community and the implementation of European Economic Community directives affecting the financial and company sector in Gibraltar.
§ Mr. RifkindNo. The Gibraltar Government have made no request for a renegotiation of Gibraltar's status in the Community. Preparations are well under way for Gibraltar to give effect to European Community directives on insurance and company law, taking into account where possible Gibraltar's special circumstances.
