§ Mr. Maclennanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps to seek to ensure that the ewe premium will be payable on untupped gimmers.
§ Mr. John MacKayIn accordance with European Community legislation sheep annual premium is payable only on female sheep which have been put to the tup for the first time or which have lambed at least once. The Government are continuing to press in the Council of Ministers for agreement that untupped gimmers should also be eligible for premium.
