20. Mr. Litherland

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will meet a delegation of members of the North-West Association of Social Services Authorities to discuss the adequacy of funding for care in the community ; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hayhoe

I have no plans to meet this delegation.

I can only repeat what has already been said in correspondence with the hon. Member, that particular issues of funding between social services authorities and health authorities in the north-west are best resolved locally.

24. Mr. Andrew MacKay

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he intends to respond to the Social Services Committee report on care in the community.
