asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the numbers of babies born in the Basildon and Thurrock district health authority area in each of the last five years and in the constituency of Basildon.

The numbers of live births during each of the five years 1980 to 1984 to mothers usually resident in the Basildon and Thurrock district health authority and in the Basildon parliamentary constituency were as follows:
