§ Mr. John MacKayOn 16 October 1985 the Scottish Home and Health Department issued a consultation paper seeking the views of several organisations with interest in criminal justice on issues relating to the tape recording of police interviews with suspects in Scotland. These organisations include the Association of Chief Police Officers (Scotland), the Association of Scottish Police Superintendents and the Scottish Police Federation. My right hon. Friend intends to make a statement when he has received and considered the responses to the consultation paper.
