§ Sir George YoungIn 1984–85, the estimated expenditure on repairs and maintenance from the housing revenue accounts of local authorities was £274 per dwelling. This compares with expenditure of £113 per dwelling in 1978–79, and represents and increase over that period of 142 per cent. in cash terms and 34 per cent. in real terms.
