Proposals for legislation to limit academic tenure in the universities for future appointments and promotions, and to amend provision for dismissal for good cause, have recently been published and sent to the Association of University Teachers and Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals for their views. Copies of the proposals have been placed in the Library of the House.
