- (2) if he will publish a table setting out expenditure per pupil for (i) primary schools and (ii) secondary schools in Hertfordshire in constant price terms for each year since 1979;
- (3) if he will publish a table setting out expenditure per pupil in constant price terms for (i) primary schools and (ii) secondary schools in Buckinghamshire in each year since 1979.

§ Sir Keith JosephThe local authority association expressed to me last March their dissatisfaction with the present pay machinery. I have made it clear that I am prepared to consider the case for change but that before coming to a firm view on the matter I would want to be satisfied that any new arrangements would offer the prospect of being a real improvement on the existing ones. I still await the detailed submission of such a case by the local authorities.
