§ Mr. Welshasked the Secretary of State for Transport what arrangements have been made for employees on motorway maintenance work to be transferred from South Yorkshire metropolitan council to the consultants who are going to be responsible for this function after April 1986.
§ Mrs. ChalkerThere are no staff transfer arrangements; but the consultants, and the contractors who will be working with the consultants, are free to recruit staff presently with the county council if they wish. I shall write to the hon. Member with further details.
