§ Mr. MellorThe numbers of senior probation officers in England and Wales at 31 December in each of the years 1980 to 1984 and at 30 June 1985 were as follows. The Government provisionally plan for growth of about 1 per cent. in the probation service in 1986–87 to enable it to respond to an expected increase in its work load.
