Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list forthcoming visits to local authorities that have been arranged for Mr. Eric Alley, his Department's civil defence adviser, and the dates on which they are to take place.

The civil defence adviser will be visiting west Glamorgan on 19 December.

Mr. Giles Shaw

Mr. Alley's appointment is for three years in the first instance with the possibility of an extension. The post attracts a salary on the Civil Service principal scale.
