§ Mr. HowardThe European Community has already introduced a system for the rapid exchange of information on hazardous consumer products under which member states advise each other through the Commission of consumer goods posing an immediate hazard against which they have taken action. Within the United Kingdom local authority enforcement agencies, in conjunction with the Government, run a regular national information service to keep each other up to date on potentially hazardous consumer products giving them concern and on prosecutions for supplying unsafe products.
