HC Deb 02 December 1985 vol 88 c46W
55. Mr. David Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is satisfied that those rail services in Strathclyde which are currently being supported under section 20 of the Transport Act 1968 will continue to be so after the Transport Act 1985 comes into operation.

Mr. Ancram

This is a matter for Strathclyde regional council, which is responsible for the subsidy paid under section 20. The future operation of these services should however be much assisted by the implementation of the Strathclyde rail review proposals for which my right hon. Friend has offered grant assistance.
