HC Deb 02 December 1985 vol 88 c142W
Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many copies of the document, "The Health Service in England—Annual Report 1985", have been produced; and how many have been supplied free and to whom.

Mr. Whitney

4,000 copies of the report were printed. 2,500 have been supplied for official use. The distribution includes regional, district and special health authorities, family practitioner committees, community health councils and professional bodies. Copies were made available in the Vote Office and to members of the press.

Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what has been the total cost of the preparation, printing, publication, promotion and distribution of "The Health Service in England—Annual Report 1985"; and how many copies have been distributed.

Mr. Whitney

The full printing costs, and distribution costs of sale copies, were borne by Her Majesty's Stationery Office with recovery in the usual way from the proceeds of sales. It would not be possible to calculate the Departmental costs of preparation, promotion and distribution without disproportionate cost. Over 2,000 copies of the Report have been distributed by the Department.
