HC Deb 02 December 1985 vol 88 c52W
Mr. Norman Hogg

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he or his hon. Friend the Member for Argyll and Bute (Mr. MacKay), the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, last met the chairman of the Greater Glasgow health board; and what subjects were discussed.

Mr. John MacKay

I last met the chairman of Greater Glasgow health board on 12 November 1985 at one of my regular meetings with all chairmen. A wide range of issues affecting the health service were discussed.

Mr. Norman Hogg

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received from the Greater Glasgow health board proposing the closure of the Stobhill hospital maternity unit; when he intends to respond; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John MacKay

As yet I have received none. In due course, however, the Greater Glasgow health board will have to seek my right hon. Friend's agreement to the proposed closure.
