Mr. Norman Hogg

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will give details of the grants and loans under the regional and industrial policy in the last year within the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth constituency referred to in his letter to the hon. Member for Cumbernauld and Kilsyth dated 27 November.

The amount and number of offers for regional selective assistance and of approvals for new regional development grant in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth constituency were as follows in the period 29 November 1984 to 31 October 1985:

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will state the total amounts offered to firms in the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth constituency under regional and industrial grants for each of the last 10 years.

Mr. Brittan

I regret that information is not available for all regional and industrial grans because it would be too costly to transfer the historic records to the computer data base. However, the new Regional Development Grants are being recorded and regional selective assistance (RSA) under section 7 of the Industry Act is available for past years. The details for RSA are set out below:
