There are 25 grade 3 posts. For grades 4 in the open structure and below, the numbers by grade are given in Her Majesty's Treasury's publication "Staff in Post: Civil Service: Non-Industrial Staff: Departmental Tables by Sex: Grade by Department Analysis on 1 April 1985", a copy of which is also available in the Library of the House. Similar details are not available for industrial staff of which there were 668 on 1 April 1985, mainly in the Agricultural Development and Advisory Service.
