HC Deb 30 April 1985 vol 78 c95W
Mr. Alexander

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much revenue was derived in 1984 from (a) road fund licences, net of the costs of collection, (b) excise duty on petrol and Derv and (c) value added tax on petrol and Derv.

Mr. Hayhoe

The information is as follows:

  1. (a)£2,065 million;
  2. (b)£4,660 million (petrol),
    • £1,160 million (Derv);
  3. (c)£930 million (this is an estimate covering all road fuel; no separate estimate is available for Derv, although this amount is likely to be small).
