§ Mr. John PattenWe welcome this charter which reflects very well the principles underlying longstanding policies on the care of children in hospital. We recognise the considerable efforts the National Association for the Welfare Children in Hospital has put into agreeing the terms of the charter with the different professional groups concerned. We believe the charter will assist parents and staff to keep the best interests of children foremost in their minds.
