How they propose to reconcile paragraph 05.21 of the Invitation to promoters for the development of a Channel Fixed Link, which requires promoters to guarantee that they are insured against all types of risk inherent in the project, both during construction and operation, and paragraph 16.6, which points out that the owners of ships which may damage the promoters' construction work, or the link itself, have their liability limited by various international conventions.
§ Lord Brabazon of TaraThere is no inconsistency. Paragraph 16.6 of theInvitation refers to the liability of shipowners and paragraph 05.21 to the liability of the constructors and operators of a fixed link.
