asked the Secretary of State for Energy what were the average fuel costs of domestic consumers in the latest year for which information is available.

Figures for 1984, the latest year for which information is available, are as followsAverage price of gas (including standing charge) to domestic credit meter consumers in Great Britain using 400 therms per annum—*44.7 pence per therm. Average price of electricity (including standing charge) to consumers in England and Wales on the standard domestic tariff using 3,300 kwh per annum—*6.027 pence per kwh. Average price of housecoal (Group 2)—†£5.44 per 50 kg. Average price of standard grade burning oil—‡419.67 pence per litre.
