§ Mr. MooreThe business expansion scheme is designed to help small companies raise equity investment from individuals not otherwise connected with the business. For this purpose, certain close relatives of the proprietor are treated as connected. There are no plans to change the rules of the business expansion scheme, apart from the proposed changes announced by my right hon. Friend in his Budget statement on 19 March.
