§ Mr. Cohenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, further to the answer of 15 April, Official Report, column 13, about the siege in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, on 2 April, if he will call for a report from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis to indicate (a) how many police officers were present at this siege and (b) how many of them were armed or had access to arms.
§ Mr. Giles ShawI understand from the Commissioner that 27 officers were deployed, of whom 11 were issued with firearms.
