§ Mr. DunnMy right hon. Friend discussed foreign language education with members of the Joint Council of Language Associations at their conference last month. The White Paper "Better Schools" set out our views on the provision of foreign languages in schools and our intention to develop these in a policy statement later this year. As I have replied today to a question from my hon. Friend the Member for Bedfordshire, South-West (Mr. Madel), we are looking forward to discussing "Better Schools" with the teacher unions.
