§ Mr. Craigenasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will give the total annual cost of mortgage interest tax relief paid to mortgagors who are taxed above the standard rate for each financial year from 1982–83 to 1984–85 in Scotland;
(2) if he will produce a table showing the annual total amount of mortgage interest tax relief for (a) Great Britain, (b) Scotland, (c) England and (d) Wales from 1982–83 to 1984–85 and also the average mortgage tax relief per mortgagor in (i) Great Britain, (ii) Scotland, (iii) England and (iv) Wales for the same period.
